Descriptions

 

The HLR stores mobile subscriber information in the local switch. The HLR subscriber information includes the International Mobile Subscriber Identity (IMSI) and service subscription information. It also maintains service restrictions, supplementary services information and location information.

 

There are three distinct subscriber types in HLR:

GSM subscribers

GPRS subscribers

Dual subscribers (GSM and GPRS subscribers)

 

GSM subscribers have access to the standard GSM network infrastructure. These subscribers require the following configuration. general details, GSM setup details, GSM supplementary services and routing MSISDNs.

 

GPRS subscribers have access to the GPRS network infrastructure. GPRS has been designed as an extension to the existing GSM network infrastructure and supports end-to-end transport of IP based packet data. These subscribers require the following configuration; general details and PDP contexts.

 

Dual subscribers have access to both the standard GSM network infrastructure and the GPRS network infrastructure. Dual subscribers require the following configuration; general details, GSM setup details, GSM supplementary services, routing MSISDNs and PDP contexts.

 

 

Implementation

1.Click the Account main menu.

 

2.Select HLR under the Subscriber submenu.

 

3.Click 2_017 at the upper-right corner.

 

4.Fill in the parameter details for this subscriber.

 

5.Click 2_018 at the top of the parameter table to create this subscriber in HLR servers.

NAM, defines the attribute of the subscriber registered network:

Assign a number to support fax service for this subscriber.

Calling party defined in ISUP for operator.

A flag indicates whether a subscriber is subject to operator determined barring.

BAOC (Barring of all outgoing calls)

BOIC (Barring of all outgoing international calls)

BOIC-exHC (ODB BOIC except those directed to home PLMN)

Bar of premium rate (information) call

BAIC (Barring of all incoming calls)

BAIC-ROAM (ODB BAIC when roaming outside home PLMN)

Roaming (Barring of roaming outside home PLMN)

Roaming CT (Barring of roaming outside home PLMN country)

RSZI List

Regional subscription zone identities lists

A PLMN specific regional subscription defines unambiguously for the entire PLMN the regions in which the roaming is allowed.

RSZI = CC + NDC + Zone code, total 10 RSZIs

CSRR Type

Define 8 CSRR (county specific roaming restrictions) types' attribute to confine the international roaming range of a subscriber. Each CSRR defines roaming restrictions for 256 VPLMNs. There are 8 CSRR combination types

Define Bearer Capability information element for fax and data service.

Calling line identification presentation state, set on called party

Provisioned=Called party displays caller number (given caller party set CLIR as Not provisioned)

Not provisioned=Called party does not display caller number

SS-CSI = Supplementary service notification CAMEL subscription information

SMS-CSI = Short message service notification CAMEL subscription information

1.Click the Account main menu.

 

2.Select HLR under the Subscriber submenu.

 

3.Click the IMSI of the subscriber want to edit, this displays the editable parameter window.

 

4.Under the Value heading, modify the values of the subscriber parameters as required.

 

5.Click the 2_020 button at the top of the parameter table to upload the new values to HLR servers.

 

6.Click the 2_019 button at the top of the parameter table to update values from HLR servers.

 

7.Verify that the new values have been saved for the subscriber.

1.Click the Account main menu.

 

2.Select HLR under the Subscriber submenu.

 

3.Click the IMSI of the subscriber want to delete, this displays the subscriber parameter window.

 

4.Switch the IMSI Flag from Enable to Disable.

 

5.Click the 2_020 button at the top of the parameter table to upload the IMSI Flag to HLR servers.

 

6.Click the 2_021 button at the top of the parameter table to delete this subscriber from HLR servers.

 

7.Click 2_014 to upload HLR subscribers from HLR to EMS database.

 

8.Verify the subscriber has been deleted from HLR.

1.Click the Account main menu.

 

2.Select HLR under the Subscriber submenu.

 

3.Click 2_022 at the upper-right corner.

 

4.Enter the number of subscribers want to be created in the Batch Amount box, a maximum of 100 subscribers in a batch.

 

5.Fill in the start IMSI, MSISDN, Fax and Data numbers.

 

6.Fill in the required initialization parameters for the batch of subscribers.

 

7.Click 2_018 at the top of the parameter table to create these subscribers in HLR.

 

8.Click 2_014 to upload HLR subscribers from HLR to EMS database.

1.Click the Account main menu.

 

2.Select HLR under the Subscriber submenu.

 

3.Click 2_014 to upload HLR subscribers from HLR to EMS database.

1.Click the Maintenance main menu.

 

2.Select Account Data under the Backup&Restore submenu.

 

3.In the right Account Data window, click Download following HLRSubscriber to download subscriber file.

 

4.In the windows pop-up window, click the Save button.

 

5.Select a location on the local PC to save the csv file and click the Save button.

 

6.Find and verify the downloaded file on the local PC.

1.Create a HLR Subscriber with the required initialization parameters according to the previous section.

 

2.Click 2_030 instead of 2_018 at the last step.

 

3.Export HLR Subscribers according to the previous section.

 

4.Open the downloaded csv file by a text editor (UltraEdit is recommended).

 

5.Find the line of the new created subscriber in the file, replicate it to a new file.

 

6.Replicate this line to reach the numbers of subscribers want to import, a maximum of 5000 lines (subscribers) in a single file.

 

7.Find the IMSI and MSISDN columns, modify all of them as required, save the file in a local directory.

1.Click the Account main menu, select HLR under the Subscriber submenu.

 

2.Click 2_023 at the upper-right corner, select the saved file in the local directory, click 2_024 to upload the subscribers to HLR servers.

 

3.Click 2_014 to upload HLR subscribers from HLR to EMS database.
