AMR Media Gateway

Top  Previous  Next

Descriptions

In order to expand the UltraWAVE R4S network capacity to provide services to more subscribers, Altobridge developed the cost-effective media gateway solution for supporting the AMR/HR features in BSS to triple the UBSC capacity without scrapping the BSS hardware. The AMR MG provides DS0 circuit to RTP conversion and EFR (16K) and AMR (8K) grooming functions to enable the circuit UBSC to work directly with the UltraWAVE softswitch with triple radio capacity. The AMR MG allows UBSC to bypass the BSS TRAU to bring the ATer interface to core network directly. The AMR MG bridges the ATer/TDM to/from BSS and ATer/IP from/to the TRAU in the AudioCodes trunking gateway.
