Mobile Number Portability (MNP) is the ability for a mobile subscriber to change the GSM subscription network within a portability domain whilst retaining his original MSISDN. The Number Portability Database stores mobile subscriber information in the local switch. The subscriber information includes the MSISDN, routing number, subscriber status, donor and recipient network information.

 

 

Implementation

1.Click the Account main menu.

 

2.Select MNP under the Subscriber submenu.

 

3.Click 2_017 at the upper-right corner.

 

4.Fill in the parameter details for this subscriber.

 

5.Click 2_031 at the top of the parameter table to create this subscriber in MNP database.

Enter the MSISDN of the new subscriber

Routing Number

1 to 8 digits routing number.

Status

Subscriber status:

Own ported out = The donor network is local network.

Foreign ported in = The recipient network is local network.

Foreign ported to the third = Neither donor nor recipient network are local network.

Donor

The number of the donor network.

Recipient

The number of the recipient network.

5

Date

Ported date, the format is yyyymmdd.

1.Click the Account main menu.

 

2.Select MNP under the Subscriber submenu.

 

3.Click the MSISDN of the subscriber want to edit, this displays the editable parameter window.

 

4.Under the Value heading, modify the values of the subscriber parameters as required.

 

5.Click the 2_020 button at the top of the parameter table to upload the new values to MNP databases.

 

6.Click the 2_019 button at the top of the parameter table to update values from MNP database.

 

7.Verify that the new values have been saved for the subscriber.

1.Click the Account main menu.

 

2.Select MNP under the Subscriber submenu.

 

3.Click the MSISDN of the subscriber want to delete, this displays the subscriber parameter window.

 

4.Click the 2_021 button at the top of the parameter table to delete this subscriber from MNP databases.

 

5.Click 2_014 to upload MNP subscribers from MNP database to EMS.

 

6.Verify the subscriber has been deleted from the database.

1.Click the Account main menu.

 

2.Select MNP under the Subscriber submenu.

 

3.Click 2_014 to upload MNP subscribers from MNP to EMS database.

1.Click the Maintenance main menu.

 

2.Select Account Data under the Backup&Restore submenu.

 

3.In the right Account Data window, click Download following MNPSubscriber to download subscriber file.

 

4.In the windows pop-up window, click the Save button.

 

5.Select a location on the local PC to save the csv file and click the Save button.

 

6.Find and verify the downloaded file on the local PC.

1.Create a MNP Subscriber with the required initialization parameters according to the previous section, click 2_030 instead of 2_031 at the last step.

 

2.Export MNP Subscribers according to the previous section.

 

3.Open the downloaded csv file by a text editor (UltraEdit is recommended).

 

4.Find the line of the new created subscriber in the file, replicate it to a new file.

 

5.Replicate this line to reach the numbers of subscribers want to import, a maximum of 5000 lines (subscribers) in a single file.

 

6.Find the MSISDN columns, modify all of them as required, save the file in a local directory.

1.Click the Account main menu, select MNP under the Subscriber submenu.

 

2.Click 2_023 at the upper-right corner, select the saved file in the local directory, click 2_024 to upload the subscribers to the MNP databases.

 

3.Click 2_014 to upload MNP subscribers from the MNP to EMS database.
