Open-Prepaid-Roaming Public-Private System

Top  Previous  Next

Descriptions

The UltraWAVE Open-Prepaid-Roaming Public-Private System (OPPS) is a combination of two systems:

Intelligent MAP-D Multiplexer System (IMDX)

The IMDX System enables the R9 System to provide “private” communication services. The IMDX provides private, hybrid and public user services to the GSM subscribers. Operator may restrict private users to make/receive calls to/from private users only and public users to make/receive calls to/from public users only; while Hybrid users can make/receive calls from both private and public users. IMDX allows the operator to use the existing R9 System to provide GSM services to employee users as a private communication tool for their daily works.

Open-to-all Prepaid Roaming System (OPR)

The OPR System enables the existing UltraWAVE Prepaid System to provide temporary services to any visiting GSM users; even they are from PLMN without local roaming agreement in place. The OPR doesn’t require GSM visitors to change their SIM cards. OPR provides prepaid services to the visitors with their home SIM cards.

Exclusive Level

Exclusive access provides solutions to restrict the IMDX registration from a predefined range of users:

Normal: Full IMDX functions.

Exclusive Half: Prohibit the public (roaming) users from registration.

Exclusive Full: Prohibit both public (roaming) and hybrid users from registration.

Shutdown: Shutdown IMDX. Forbid all users from registration.

Exclusive Rejection Cause

In the exclusive access mode, the network sends a Location Area Updating Reject message to MS to indicate the cause of rejection:

PLMN not allowed = The PLMN is added to a "Forbidden PLMN list" stored in the SIM card to prevent MS from any further attempt to register in the PLMN.

LA not allowed = The MS does not attempt registering in the PLMN, unless the user changes location area.

Roaming not allowed in this LA = The selected location area does not accept visitors from another PLMN.
