Descriptions
Number portability is a feature that allows operators to attract new customers from other mobile networks with as much transparency to the subscriber as possible.
Number portability allows mobile subscribers to switch from one operator to another or relocate to another home location register of the same operator without changing their mobile subscriber ISDN number. Within the same local area, it allows subscribers to relocate to another provider (operator portability) or to another combined switching center of the same network provider (location portability) without changing their directory number.
