Implementation

1.Go to EMS >Configuration >NSS >PPS.

 

2.Make sure the System ID at the upper right corner displays PPS_pub, click the 2_035 button.

1.Click to open the SRF Parameters >USSD Service Number tab.

 

2.Click the hyperlinked index number of the USSD service number to open its option window.

 

3.Configure the USSD access code and click highlight SAVE after change.

 

4.Click the 2_041 button to update it to application servers.

 

Sub-parameter

Description

Hotline

It is a USSD access code to an interactive menu with available prepaid services.

Inquiry

It is a dedicated USSD access code for balance inquiry.

Recharge

It is a dedicated USSD access code for balance recharge.

Balance Transfer

It is a dedicated USSD access code for balance transfer.

Call Me Back

It is a dedicated USSD access code for Call Me Back service.

Tell Me My Number

It is a dedicated USSD access code for Tell Me My Number service.

F&F Number Plan Inquiry

It is a dedicated USSD access code for F&F Number Plan inquiry.

Please note the USSD hotline menu order is based on the key's sequence. For unsupported service, just leave its key as idle.

 

1.Click to open the SRF Parameters >USSD Service Key tab.

 

2.Click the hyperlinked index number of the USSD service key to open its option window.

 

3.Configure the service key and click highlight SAVE after change.

 

4.Click the 2_041 button to update it to application servers.

Please note the SMS Sentence #40 to #45 are dedicated for USSD operation, USSD prompts for other prepaid services are same as relevant SMS prompts.

 

1.Click to open the Service Control >SMS Sentence tab.

 

2.Click the hyperlinked index number of the sentence wanted to change to open the configuration window.

 

3.Edit the sentence in the Language x Content line, click highlighted SAVE when it's done.

 

4.Click the 2_041 button to update parameters to application servers.

1.Go to EMS >Configuration >NSS >HLR.

 

2.Click the 2_035 button at the upper right corner.

1.Click the USSD tab, pick up an idle UG-CSI object from 0 to 3, configure the relevant parameters given in the following table.

 

2.Click the 2_041 button to update parameters to application servers.

USSD Format String

The access code of Unstructured Supplementary Services Data service. Start with 1-2 digits of '*' or '#' . End with '#'. Separate sections by '*' . Contents can be added:

C = Service code

B = Blank

S = Supplement info

**C3B*S#

UG-CSI Service Code x

Prepaid subscribers dial this code to activate certain USSD service, such as Hotline or  Inquiry.

For example (**C3B*S#):

Service Code = 124, dial **124*0# to access USSD service.

Please note that the **124*# and **124# formats are also accepted by the service.

UG-CSI SCF Address x

The E.164 node address of SCF-MAP.

Prepaid subscribers dial the USSD service number to initiate hotline service.

For example, set 11 as the USSD hotline service number. Dial **11# to initiate a USSD dialog. The screen displays prompt as the following figure. Enter the index number of selection to continue.

Prepaid subscribers dial the USSD service number to initiate inquiry service.

For example, set 22 as the USSD inquiry number. Dial **22# to initiate a USSD dialog. The screen displays reply as the following figure.

Prepaid subscribers dial the USSD service number to initiate recharge service.

For example, set 33 as the USSD recharge number:

Dial **33# to initiate a USSD dialog. The screen displays prompt as the following figure. Reply the recharge card password to continue.

Another recharge way is to dial **33*PIN# to initiate a USSD dialog. The PIN is the valid recharge card password. The screen displays prompt as the following figure.

When recharge fail, the screen displays prompt as the following figure. Reply the recharge card password to continue.

Prepaid subscribers dial the USSD service number to initiate transfer balance service.

For example, set 44 as transfer balance service number. Dial **44# to initiate a USSD dialog. The screen displays prompt as the following figure.

Reply the prompt in the following format: <Number B>#<Credit X>

-<Number B> is the whole number with CC and NDC.

-<Credit X> is in the currency unit as displayed when inquire balance, but replace decimal point "." with asterisk "*". The 0 at the end can be ignored.

For example:

-Transfer 10.50$ to 965001, the reply content is "86755965001#10*5".

-Transfer 10.00$ to 965001, the reply content is "86755965001#10".

-Transfer 0.05$ to 965001, the reply content is "86755965001#0*05".

When transfer succeeds, then a notification USSD message and short message in the following format will be sent to the transmitter. And a notification short message will be sent to the receiver.

Prepaid subscribers dial the USSD service number to initiate call me service.

For example, set 55 as call me back service number. Dial **55# to initiate a USSD dialog. The screen displays prompt as the following figure. Reply the destination number, e.g. "86755965001".

A short message will be sent to the destination subscriber with a preset Call Me message (i.e. “Please call me back.”).
