Descriptions
The MSS License Control provides a software means of service provisioning and capacity control on the application software products. It allows Altobridge to deliver the product with different provisioned services and capacity according to the order from the operator.
UltraWAVE system and its component servers are subject to license control. A license file named system.ini is involved in license control. The system.ini file is a binary config file that determines which service to provision and how many subscribers or trunk ports the system supports. The system.ini file is stored in the physical application servers, e.g. MSS, EMS and each of VMS servers. The dual MSS servers of a system use the same system.ini file. Generally each UltraWAVE system needs one license file for MSS servers, one license file for EMS servers, and multiple license files for VMS servers.
The information in MSS system.ini includes: •Applications to provision: MSC, VLR, HLR, PPS, AUC, EIR, SMSC, MNP, OPPS and iPALIM •Subscriber capacity of provisioned applications (Maximum=100K, Unit=100) •Features to provision: AIF, ISUP, ISDN, CAP, BICC, SIP, USSD, GPRS, MGC, iRLS, OPR and IMDX •Port capacity of MSC (Maximum=256, Unit=8) •Copyright protection based on physical information of CPU, LAN adapter and RAM
It is Altobridge that implements the system.ini file before deliver the system to customer. Operators should provide their system services and capacity request to Altobridge for system.ini implementation.
