Enabling Prepaid Service

Top  Previous  Next

Descriptions

The UltraWAVE Prepaid System (PPS) is a full featured Intelligent Network (IN) prepaid system. As an IN Service Control Point (SCP), the PPS functions with the UltraWAVE system to provide a turnkey and complete solution for mobile prepaid service. With prepaid telephony, subscribers pay before they use the service. Subscribers buy a certain amount of service by prepaying a certain amount of money, and can use the service up to the amount purchased. Once that amount is used, subscribers have to prepay again to continue using the service. Refer to PPS User Manual for more information.

hmtoggle_arrow1Configure Class of Service (COS)

A Class of Service (COS) is the basic entity used to define prepaid service packages, and constitutes a major part of the service data. Most of the service behavior, including the tariff structure, allowed dialed numbers, the number of phone book entries allowed for a subscriber in the Friends and Family feature and many other service characteristics such as the switch of Close User Group and Friend and Family, are defined as part of the COS.

Each subscriber is assigned to only one COS. The subscriber COS name is listed in the subscriber record and is read whenever the service processes the subscriber.

Overall, the behavior of the service for a given subscriber is determined by the subscriber's COS. Only a few personal configuration attributes (such as the subscriber's default language) are kept in the subscriber records; the rest are defined in the subscriber COS and are shared by all the subscribers assigned to that COS.

A total of 64 COS can be defined in the system, allowing the prepaid service to offer multiple service packages to subscribers.

1.Go to EMS >Configuration >NSS >PPS.

2.Click the 2_035 button at the upper right corner.

2_48_09
